End of Summer Fun

Recently GE Capital's Retail Finance business held "Celebrate You" week. It was a chance for our business to recognize the accomplishments that the employees have achieved. The business arranged a Senior Leader Networking Breakfast, Signature Scavenger Hunt, a barbeque, and a number of other activities. For IMLPs, it was also a great time to meet seniors leader and people on other teams. The barbeque was a fun way to unwind at the end of the day and we even got a chance to watch a Magic Comedy Show. Here is GE Capital IMLP, Amanda, participating in the show:

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Umm, what's my line?

There are definitely some perks in working for a company with such a vast business portfolio as GE: we have resources in areas that some companies could only dream of!  In April, IMLP's from across the UK teamed up with our colleagues at CNBC in London to shoot the first evThe 'cast' of the UK IMLP video in the studio. L to R: Eulogio, Rich, Gemma, Miguel, Lydie, Seb, Renuader IMLP promotional video, starring yours truly and a whole host of IMLPs, alumni, and interns.

Lead by UK IMLP Eulogio, the entire commercial was designed and scripted by the cast and shot in one afternoon at the CNBC News Studio.  We filmed over 3 hours of footage (there were plenty of outtakes!) and with the help of the editing geniuses at NBC we chopped this down to a two and a half minute segment. The video will be used in our online recruitment advertising for IMLP.

The IMLP program is rapidly expanding in the UK, and one of our largest challenges is getting our message out to the graduating students in a market where both IMLP and the GE brand are not well known.  This video, along with the huge publicity boost provided by GE’s sponsorship of the 2012 London Olympics, will go a long way towards bridging that gap.

Visiting the NBC Studios was a fantastic experience for everyone.  We learned a lot about how filming works in a studio environment and the pressures involved in making live television, as we were fortunate enough to sit in the control room during a live news broadcast with a breaking story!

Thanks to all the IMLP's involved, and an extra special thanks to Lloyd, Martin, Charlotte and Tim from CNBC for giving up their time and being such superb hosts.
