A First Rotation Comes to a Close

Two weeks ago, NBCU held their final pitchouts for rotations.

For many of the LP's this was nothing new as they were finishing their 3rd Rotation and moving to thier 4th/final rotation. However for myself, and a few others, this was a first.

For those who are new to the term "pitchouts," let me elaborate.

At the end of each rotation, LP's are required to sum up everything they worked on into a 3-4 minute pitch. Not too extreme right? Well I quickly found out that cramming the 4 different projects I was working on into 3 slides while still getting my points accross is a skill that took weeks of refining.

A Pitch to the CEO: Are you ready?

As a recent IMLP graduate, I am currently working as a project manager in a sub-business of GE Healthcare called Clinical Systems. The Clinical Systems business makes ultrasound, monitoring solutions, maternal infant care and other devices. As part of my off program role, I have been asked to give a short pitch about a project I am working on to the CEO of Clinical Systems. It got me thinking, how much have I been prepared for this through the GE Information Management Leadership program?

Here are just a few:

1. Presentation skills intro - Bootcamp, Danbury, CT
2. Final Project Pitch to Management - Bootcamp, Danbury, CT
3. SDLC Remote Pitching - Virtual Meeting
Sidenote on remote pitching: Since we did most of this pitching and class outside of business hours for some timezones, this class was especially interesting due to the occasional background noise.  Where else can you hear early morning train noises from the east coast and the screech of traffic in China at the same time?
4. SDLC 2 Pitching and Writing Skills - Virtual Meeting
5. Foundations of Leadership - Presentation Seminar - GE Healthcare Institute
6. Senior Bootcamp Advanced Presentation Skills - Shanghai, China

I should be ready, right? It still takes a ton of planning and prep but, you couldn't ask for better training.
