St. Patty's Day Green Week: Green Is Universal

http://www.greenisuniversal.com/index.phpIn light of the upcoming St. Patrick's day, I wanted to pay tribute to all the Green Initiatives that GE has going on at the moment.

GE is a very diverse and involved Company, with a variety of widespread initiatives. One of them in particular that is well known for its outreach is GE's Ecomagination initiative.

Although this is an incredible initiative, I wanted to take a moment and pay tribute to My particular business's green initiative. Green Is Universal.

A First Rotation Comes to a Close

Two weeks ago, NBCU held their final pitchouts for rotations.

For many of the LP's this was nothing new as they were finishing their 3rd Rotation and moving to thier 4th/final rotation. However for myself, and a few others, this was a first.

For those who are new to the term "pitchouts," let me elaborate.

At the end of each rotation, LP's are required to sum up everything they worked on into a 3-4 minute pitch. Not too extreme right? Well I quickly found out that cramming the 4 different projects I was working on into 3 slides while still getting my points accross is a skill that took weeks of refining.

An IMLP Winter in California

Well, with Hanukkah upon us and with Christmas and New Years around the corner, I couldn't help but think about what the weather is going to be like in New York when I return for the holidays. As of now, it has rained for a grand total of 5 days spread across the entire 5 months I've been out here in California. The coldest it's been was around 40 degrees, and that's only at night and early mornings.

I am a winter person. I went to school in upstate New York, Syracuse University to be exact (GO CUSE!), and right around now, I would be trudging through 6 inches of snow to make my way to my last final of the semester. So naturally I miss the white stuff, especially because there are three small mountains within 45 minutes of the campus to ski on whenever you want.

An IMLP Thanksgiving

Mmmm, Turkey. After living by myself for almost 5 months now, bad habits have begun to set in. Mainly, the laziness of not wanting to cook food. So naturally, a week at home with an incredible home cooked meal sounds very appetizing.

As most of you readers out there may know already, I am an IMLP working at NBC Universal in Universal City, California, and I'm actually from New York which makes going home to see family a bit of a hike.

So what do IMLP's do for the Holidays when they live so far from home?

Rotation Spotlight: Matthew Bellezza

Many wonder what it is we IMLP's actually do on program each rotation. And in light of that curiosity, I'd like to share some top secret information regarding what I currently do at NBCU for my first rotation.

Well, its not actually top secret per se, however what I am working on does deal with security, which is a very important part of every business. I'm not actually working on one project either - technically I have four, all of which fall within the Information Security and Governance category.
