Meet the Interns - GE Energy

Jonathan - First Rotation IMLP Intern - GE EnergyMy name is Jonathan, and I am a senior at Georgia State University majoring in Computer Information Systems. When I planned to attend the Georgia State’s 2009 Fall Career Expo, I knew that there was one company in particular that I had to talk to.  That company was none other than General Electric, and I was curious to see what all the hype was about.  I wanted to know exactly why this company was noted for being the most innovative company in the world that led the frontier in the newest, cutting-edge technology. Well, as a current IMLP intern, I can certainly say that I now understand. My experience as an IMLP intern has by far been the best experience of my life.

I have never been in a work environment where everyone thoroughly enjoys what they do and are always open to new ideas. I am currently working for the GAMS Siebel-SFDC-OBI Application Technology team, and I have been tasked with finalizing and maintaining our four community portals as well as building several workflows for our various processes.

I am generally not a morning person, but I thoroughly look forward to my 7:30am conference calls with my team members across seas. It gives new meaning to the term global collaboration, and that is what I love most about my IMLP internship experience. I am able to connect with people from all around the globe to make an impact in the future of technology. Therefore, it is my goal and determination to start my career in IT as a full-time IMLP and play a role in the innovation that is GE.
