9 IMLPs on a Quest for Good Waffles?

http://edholden.com | CC BY-NC 2.0Ok, so we don't work all the time... (We really must sound like work-a-holics.) Don't get me wrong, a job on the IMLP program does take a time commitment, but we need to have something fun to do in our spare time. So, for one weekend we decided to head up to Stowe, VT for some Spring Weather skiing and snowboarding.

For this trip we had IMLPs from a handful of GE businesses, including: NBC, Capital, and Corporate, coming from New York City, Crotonville (Corporate Training Facility), Albany, NY, Danbury, CT, and Stamford, CT. So, we all took a half day on Friday and started the long journey. I had forgotten how a 6 hour car ride can really fly by when you are surrounded by a group of your friends and laughing at the stupid things people do while driving (Here's to you, lady who was swerving from lane to lane as you read a book).

We decided that it would be most economical if we all stayed in one condo and cooked dinner instead of going to restaurants. It was great to come back from the pool and hot tub to a nice warm meal of corned beef and cabbage served up the traditional way with homemade sweet potato fries (which I may have eaten most of before they hit the table; whoops). But no meal we cooked could compete with the ultimate snack: Sugar Belgium Waffles with hot cocoa at the peak of one of the highest mountains in the area. These waffles were so good, we even gave up a last run on one peak just to head back over to the only waffle shop still open.

Well, look at me spending most of this post talking about food... I guess some things never change. On to the skiing I guess. First off, it was really warm out; I found myself skiing with no jacket, and one of my buddies was skiing without any shirt. The conditions were alright, but the snow was rather wet because of the warm weather; so, it was quickly carved up into moguls. This made it rather difficult for the snowboarders of our group to navigate the slopes; so, Joe and I found it rather funny to sit at the bottom and watch them fall. Although Shane tended to have the most balance of the bunch... I guess he couldn't help himself from falling over once or twice... Check out his crash here:
