An IMLP Thanksgiving

Mmmm, Turkey. After living by myself for almost 5 months now, bad habits have begun to set in. Mainly, the laziness of not wanting to cook food. So naturally, a week at home with an incredible home cooked meal sounds very appetizing.

As most of you readers out there may know already, I am an IMLP working at NBC Universal in Universal City, California, and I'm actually from New York which makes going home to see family a bit of a hike.

So what do IMLP's do for the Holidays when they live so far from home?

We fly. And in my case - 5 hours across the country for one DELICIOUS meal, and 3 days of leftovers.

Living on the opposite coast that you are originally from will naturally have some adverse effects on your "way of living".

Four solid days at home, enough time to see my friends, and still kept the parental units happy. Not to mention the Turducken we made. If you don't know what that is, let me fill you in. Take a duck. De-bone it. Stuff that inside a de-boned Chicken, then take that and stuff it inside your Turkey with layers of whatever stuffing you'd like. Stick it in an oven at 250 degrees for 10 hours, and you have a John Madden Thanksgiving. I say John Madden, because he invented it. No joke.

Well, 4 days, 5 nights and a plethora of leftovers later, I am stuffed, jet-lagged and back in the office wishing I had brought some of those sweet potatoes with the marshmallows baked on top home with me for dinner.

Hope Everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
