Halfway Point: Mid-Rotation Review

November marks the halfway point for my first rotation, which also means I have a mid-rotational review.

At the beginning of each rotation, IMLPs compile a list of goals that we will be evaluated on three times over the course of the rotation.

The first review, is primarily to make sure you have clear, measurable goals regarding your project.

The second, which I will go into depth a little later, is where your program manager for the business you work for will evaluate you on your goals thus far. And finally, around the time when you pitch your projects out to senior management at the end of your rotation, there is a final review

My mid-rotational review was about 2 weeks ago, and was pretty painless. It helped that I had gone over my goals thoroughly with my Assignment Leader, because prior to your review you are required to rank your self on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) on you progress towards reaching said goals.

You then discuss your rankings with your AL who has also ranked you based on his view of your progress.

When you meet with your Program Manager for your business to discuss your goals, you mainly cover why you ranked yourself what you did, and why you think your AL ranked you the way they did.

Nothing too strenuous, but it can be a little jarring if your not doing as well as you thought. Goals are very important because for the most part, your progress effect your potential for future benefits (plus it is all caputured in one system!)
