GE breaks out a new brand awareness campaign for China
December 9, 2008
Ever wonder what imagination at work looks like in Chinese? Check out http://www.imaginationatwork.cn/ where GE’s newest advertising campaign introduces Wang and Bang, a dynamic duo of brains and brawn that team up to show China how GE’s tackling the world’s hardest problems and making an impact all around the country.
The campaign consists of a series of short features on the key GE businesses in China… businesses like water, energy, research, transportation, and others. These features attempt to raise brand awareness in the emerging Chinese marketplace, differentiate GE’s many businesses from the many foreign competitors in the region, and display GE as a mainstay company in China that has a vested interest in the country’s future.
So, who are Wang and Bang? Wang’s a charismatic young man, discovering how GE products and services are all around him, playing a part in his everyday life. Meanwhile, Bang is a savvy scientist, researching in his lab on new solutions to solve the world’s problems. Together Wang and Bang work to give GE a face (or in this case, faces) in the Chinese marketplace.
But these two are more than just spokesman for GE in China, they’re fully interactive online personas. People can go online to http://www.imaginationatwork.cn/and see their personal photos, play games and learn fun facts in Bang’s lab and Wang’s loft, read their personal blogs, chat with them on Facebook, and more!
Pretty cool, huh? So, check it out! You may not be able to understand it, but it’s quite interesting to see how GE presents itself to the Chinese marketplace.
